The layers feel somewhat disconnected and blah in the beginning. Around the 2:00 mark things draw together into a nice movement that reminds me of the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 music. But then things happen in disconnected segments. This has a whole lot of potential. Did you come up with the music or is this a remix?

jzhak responds:

sorry i compose with the guitar pro software, and yes the song is my, it is no remix, thanks for coment

At first I was wondering "is the /beginning/ ever going to /end/" but I felt it held a subconscious tension that enhanced the melody when it finally came along and helped define the feel of the music. Though overall it does feel a bit boring and long-drawn-out. Most of the percussions are short and a bit cheap feeling. But nothing bad. I enjoyed listening.

SubZero45 responds:

I'm sorry to hear that it felt a little drawn out for you, and I appreciate the input that you have given.

Percussions have always been a little difficult for me as far as which effect to give them and how strong to make those effects, in the end I always end up with a "simpler is better" sort of approach, but I need to start taking bigger steps with those.

I have been working in FL for a long time now, but I am not by any means a musical expert. If you watched me make a song it would be the equivalent of watching your grandpa open up IE on the computer and continue to hunt and peck the keyboard, so again, I am very grateful to you and your advice, plus the fact that you didn't hate it completely makes me believe I didn't do too bad of a job :)

The beats are much louder than the background. Specifically, the high frequencies in the beats are too loud. When the beats started I kinda jumped.

I like the "lead instrument" that comes in at some points and the piano background is pleasant. Musically, this is beautiful. If the beat volume was lowered significantly I would appreciate this piece significantly more. :)

AmbientDanny responds:

yeah some people have told me that. sum1 also told me that the hi-hats were too loud, yeah man i feel you. thx for the advice bro, and thx for reviewing. :)

Just chillin' out on the guitar. Nice. While I personally prefer more connected defined melodies (usually) this would be ideal for a chill scene in a point-and-click game. Great special effects at 1:55 and 3:13, lol. High string sounds out of tune.

Acoustatic responds:

Thanks man I appreciate the review, it would be awesome if somebody did decide to use this in a game:P

Have a great day!

Nice use of varied beats and instruments. I agree with Acoustatic, the distorted guitar is a bit too in-the-face for this chill song.

I just now am seeing this comment...

Whats funny is after listening to my song again I totally agree! I just wish I still had the original FL file... I don't think I can fix it at this point :/

The volume of everything seems inverted at first, with the more melodic elements being hardly audible. And the initial beats feel odd. But after that, everything is cool. :)

The-Cockenator responds:

if i knew how to respond to that ??

Woah, listening to it makes my head feel funny. I guess that is an appropriate feeling? The combination of relaxing ambiance and funny robot sounds is cool.

SamHandwiches responds:

Yeah, that's what I was going for :P I was thinking of 3d audio, like in the "Virtual Barber Shop" so I tried to mix it like that, so it sounds like it's coming from your own head. :D Thanks for the review!
