I LOVE this! Unfortunately these earbuds don't do bass that well, so I can hardly hear the didge, but maybe I'll get another decent set of not-expensive headphones soon.

This is perfect for, actually a lot of different video game level types.

As I listen to this, I hear an occasional eerie bending string swell in my head. :)

You have ascended into the realm of amazing musical compositions. Or maybe you were always there. Anyway, this is amazing. :)

VGSongbird responds:

Lol it takes hard work to make a piece of music. I'm just glad you enjoyed it. Thank you :D

Great use of Sonatina! I actually prefer this over the original Final Battle, but I would probably most like some super radical electronic version. :P

K-Pone responds:

Would you like to make one? I'd like to hear someone else's interpretation of the song.

Great diverse composition!

conorstrejcek responds:

Thanks!

If I remade this, I would use better samples for the instruments and possibly add a bit to the instrumentation in certain sections. My transitions in this piece aren't that great either, but I'm glad you liked it anyway haha!

Thanks again!

That's a very cool musical build. It has a strong creative feel to it. The keyboardy effects at the beginning feel a bit out of place since most of the piece is defined by acoustic instrumentation, with the awkward transition point being the overly loud note at 00:49. The beginning is entirely too quiet IMO, but that seems to be a normal volume range for classical pieces anyway. I feel like I just ascended from Proteus (visitproteus.com) to, um, whatever comes next. Grin. Nice plucked ending. I'd definitely like to see more music from you.

conorstrejcek responds:

Thanks for the review!

Yeah I guess those sounds do seem out of place. I was trying to make it a bit more interesting at the beginning since it was only strings, but next time maybe I'll do something else.

Positive reviews make my day, so thanks again!

So happy! I absolutely love the first half. 00:00 to 00:40 is bright and happy, 00:40 to 00:52 is awesome, but the rest of the music is, while still cool, more bland and repetitive. I feel that the music should build up as it goes, instead of falling into a more relaxed second half. But that may be just me. If more of the 00:40 - 00:52 style was featured in the rest of the composition I think it would be super amazing.

Emid responds:

Exactly and this is the same case here. You might have the taste as of me regarding 0:52 onwards (which I certainly wanted to be as you said) but the difference is you guys are awesome in new ideas while me, a hobbyist type, wholeheartedly confess that this first half had taken a lot from my brain. So seriously I am happy that it is finished. However, to make 0:52 onwards "relaxed", was not an easy goal for me as well. Anyway thanks a lot for you kind words. :)

I'm not sure how to describe it but I love the atmosphere it paints. It's complex, unresolved, but still has a "well defined" feeling. The percussion that kicks in just after 1:50 causes a sudden sharp increase in volume in the higher frequencies, which kinda hurt my ears. I'm sure part of the blame goes to my earbuds - my good headphones are broken. Also, the piece has a bit too much simple repetitiveness. So it's not quite perfect. 4.5 stars for you. :)

XayberOptix responds:

Thank you for your observation and review on this piece. I agree that it is complex and unresolved. I guess "mind waves" can relate to dreams in that they have no beginning and no ending. :)

This music has a very neat arrangement and nice instrument selection, but a lot of it sounds "smothered", I think because the melody instruments are dull and hiding in the background, and it sounds like it has a strange reverb that cuts off fast, but that may be a miscalculation of my ears.

Well, it's properly epic. Very nice. I want to be biased because it is Celtic-y, I want to tick that last half-star, but the instruments are strange in that some sound near and in a box, some sound far away and in a cathedral, etc.

I hear some sort of smallpipes, then Uilleann pipes.

Phyrnna responds:

They be Launnedas!
