Wow! Perfect! My only complaint - five and a half minutes was a bit much of it for me because of the repetitive nature. It feels like 4:30 is a good time for it to come to an end, but it just keeps on going. Who cares, though. That just means we get to dance a little longer.

I'll offer my honest opinions: Sounds amazing! The lower/louder drumbeat seems to be a bit too "close" sounding or something, particularly at the beginning. It could stand to be a bit more mellow and quieter, I think. The melody is simple and nice and varied some. The atmosphere is gentle but very active. I get the feeling of a jungle cavern lake brimming with life. Or perhaps a moonlit forest; Grin.

Oh the piano at 3:00! Sweet! But then it sneaks out of the scene. The transition thingy at 3:40 is too loud and it quickly dies back into the old stuff, making for a rather awkward effect. But the old stuff is great and the return of the piano is very cool. I think the first piano section would sound better fading directly into the awkward loud transition instead of having the dead section between.

I can feel 10 hours of work in this. This, to me, is one of those oh-so-rare not-boring ambient tracks. :)

Nice epic composition!

The choir in the first 8 seconds sounds fake and their die-off sounds fake.

The short cymbals used from 18 to 23, 33 to 38, and 1:05 to 1:13 sound... thin I guess? I'm not sure, but something sounds strange about them.

Cool. 3:31 and beyond is really cool, though I don't really understand it. I could see a high quality recording/mixing of all this being epic, with a nice full voice choir. :)

Ha! I'm not sure I understand it much either;) glad you liked it, I would love someone to do a remix of this myself...

I'm amazed at how well the feel of the song fits the description...

But what if the aliens are animalistic wild natural resource consumers and are just coming to our solar system to absorb all the energy from our sun?

Sorry. :P

XayberOptix responds:

LOL! Well, have you ever wondered whether WE (i.e., humans) are the Aliens that landed here on earth tens of thousands of years ago to consume this planet of its resources? Think about all the gold we dug up not to mention the crude oil. At the rate we are going, the earth's natural resources could be depleted in front of our eyes! This could leave our children's children without much else left to enjoy.

Beautiful. I can see the crystal reflections, I can feel the rain. It's a bit cold, but not too cold.

NordicHazard responds:

i'm glad i could put the melody in the right way, thanks!

*mouth hanging open* Beautiful. Atmospheric. I find a lot of ambient stuff boring but this- boring it is not!

I felt the guitar in the second half stood out a bit too strongly from everything else, perhaps being a bit too loud.

Wow. An ecosystem. I hear it.

"However, an ecosystem is also diverse, so you're going to hear plenty of different musical styles playing here." - I don't here a lot of variance in musical style. I feel Trinity far better showcases that design specification. But with that much variation it might begin to sound like /multiple/ ecosystems. :D

Very nice work. I'm not going to ask you to change anything. Grin.

Step responds:

Hehe thanks!

Yeah I agree it's not as diverse as Trinity. Rather than different styles it's probably a better idea to say different moods haha. Although the orchestral 'epic' part is a pretty drastic change in style. I just tried to make this diverse while still having it make sense musically.

Thanks again, I'm glad you liked it :3.

What a complex, sad sound. It is not only sad, but also painful. Beautiful composition. It's depressing me. :P

I think the violin is too bright. It sounds distant (background), yet the bright tone grabs the foreground over the mellow piano, so, at least in my mind, both the violin and piano have an unresolved "location". (But that may actually enhance the painful feel of this piece.)

Happiness in high quality (8 bits!). Amazingness without reverb. :)

ShinsukeIto responds:

Thanks for the review and 5 stars, I appreciate it! :)

Half-baked coder, musician, and writer. Chronically ill. Possibly a vampire. I want chocolate.
