Great work. I imagine a space-shooter game, in which everything dances! When you are in the cockpit, moving around, you see all the crew dancing. And when you go into ship-view you see aliens and asteroids dancing. Haha!

XayberOptix responds:

HAHA! That's quite a visual! Glad you could make something of it. :)

To borrow the words of a friend: "Very nice. I love this track! It's mixed very well too. I have no criticisms of this. Great job" :D

That's not entirely true, though. The mixing is wonderful. The song is wonderful. But, if you think of it like a plot line, I think it sounds a bit too flat. Maybe it could use more building and dropping of volume and/or intensity in places. I would point to this as a good example of what I'm talking about: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/508619
The difference isn't huge, but I think the impact is significant.

OpenLight responds:

Thanks. I'll keep that criticism in mind for sure! I tried to go for that, but it may have been a direction that wasn't the best.

Love it!

SilverPoyozo responds:

Thank you!

Upgrading to FL Studio, are we? :)

Pretty cool. This has a great overall sound. I think the sidechaining came out well.

K-Pone responds:

I don't actually want to go over to FL Studio as my main DAW. I still prefer LMMS, but some things simply can't be done in LMMS like they could in FL Studio. So, that's why I have FL Studio here as well.

Without the chords, bridge, and melody from the original, this feels a bit empty. The original "told a story", while this just hangs really tight to a single idea. Of course, that may be the effect you want, and that is fine.

I like the use of the piano and the chimey-thingy. The drums aren't too bad. The cheap chorus patch is kinda annoying because of the way each note starts, the chimes sound too "close", and the 'snare roll' sounds like an aweful glitch.

Darknessbreaker responds:

Well in fact this track was a practise for accords and drums to me. So... i really focused on them and ended up without the other stuff xD. It seems like i have to look over my drum stuff another time ^^. Thanks for your review.

Nice one dude, and not terribly similar to any other music in my collection.

DanJohansen responds:

Awesome, glad it is enjoyed man.

Thanks! Wow, you guys really put a lot of work into sample gathering. Even going to a local Chinese community! The samples sound great.

To be honest, though, the overall track sounds very confused, and I find it to be neither relaxing nor enlightening, but, well, confusing. I think too many instruments are "overlapping", and are "fighting each other". I think the quickly-plucked thing in the background might be the main source of confusion.

What is that called? I think it might be called "too much counterpoint".

Perhaps my western ears are just spoiled to music with a lot of "rule" to it. Grin.

Fun! Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks K!

Wash those troubles away! Great stuff. The heavy rain at the end really hit the spot. :)

Fubaka responds:

Actually, that's a river. :P

Wrote your own language? Kids these days have too much free time. Grin. I think you hit the atmosphere spot-on.

Troisnyx responds:

Eeee, thanks! : ) I felt I fumbled, a bit, with the atmosphere, but I did my best.

And Sauveterrané became a pet project of mine because I wanted to express myself in something that didn't sound remotely like English, French or Malay (the three languages I'm fluent in), in the event I couldn't find words in either language.

Half-baked coder, musician, and writer. Chronically ill. Possibly a vampire. I want chocolate.
