How are YOU doing?

Posted by Krichotomy - April 23rd, 2014

I've moved to a new apartment, and here I am better able to focus on projects and responsibilities. I have trouble focusing and I have lots of headaches but it seems more manageable now. Hopefully I'll have a job soon. For now I'm busying myself trying to improve my story writing abilities because I have lots and lots of ideas and I just feel like I need to do something with them.

But enough about myself. How are YOU doing?

Can't complain. Also moved. Just want to see how all the other beautiful people on NG are doing this lovely morning.

Moving is not to be taken lightly!

One tip i can give you for storywriting is; live it.

Never write out of will, write out of need.

If you have experienced situations they will be more powerful to bring over to the reader, it gives you something to tell, it gives you something to teach about it.

It may sound like completely nuts but just before you go to sleep, laying in bed. Imagine yourself as the main character, and revel yourself into the adventure you want your stories to be about. Like playing a movie from your imagination. It helps, it helped me greatly to write once. Dont think of the stories, experience them. There will be characters that will spawn from you, not from once again the necessity to be there, but they will be parts of you, and you will know them, and you will be able to describe them in much more detail.

That's actually about exactly how I write my stories. I also get a lot of ideas from walking around town and parks and the woods, and just observing everything around me. Usually I obsess over details so much that I never get far, so now I'm trying to write long crappy complete stories just for good practice.

I'm feeling very good. Well at the moment ive got something like... a time where my creativity is completely gone so i cant work on music at the moment but if we leave that out, I'm fine. Preparing some presentations for school atm ^^.

Yeah, I have those times too. "The creative servers are down for maintenance. In the mean-time, please enjoy a complimentary donut." Lately I've been focusing more on trying to write stories than on music.

Glad to hear you're doing better! I got a new job myself last year, though only part time and not very well-paid it feels great getting out into the world a bit. Home's such a much better place to return to when you've been away a while. :)

I should get back to writing too... wrote the first chapters of a book through a university course, but since the course ended I've barely written a page, the plan was to keep going and eventually get it published. A new year... a new try!

Eh, this is old news, from April. Since then, I've been doing continually worse, and quite unable to work. I started taking medication (Citalopram) in November, but have only been even worse during this period of medication, even giving up my hobbies, sometimes just too tired and unmotivated to do anything at all.

I've been remarkably well the past two days, though, better than I've been for months, part of the reason for all these comments I've been leaving on Newgrounds. ^^ Well enough to actually work on music or stories, but instead I've been playing catch-up with various responsibilities.

In three days I will meet the psychiatrist again and discuss what to try next. It seems likely that I have hyperthyroidism, so thyroid testing and medication may be in order.

Oh man, sorry to hear it! :/ Spotted no negative news in your feed since that last one, so assumed this still applied. Hyperthyroidism huh... would that be something that can be 'cured'? Googling gives a bunch of dietary advice. Hope it goes well/gets better!

Eh, I just haven't had the energy to post. And I prefer to put out positive posts anyway.

I've never heard of a cure, but there is medication for hyperthyroidism. Diet is also important for it.

I learned early in life that I have to be careful what I eat.

Thanks man.
