Are you, my friend, aware of the Newgrounds Audio Group on Facebook?https://www.facebook.com/groups/newgroundsaudiowip/

This is one place you can go if you are seeking for critical feedback on your music, particularly on work-in-progress tracks or compilations/reject reels.

Official description:

Welcome to the Newgrounds Audio WIP Group!

Our aim in this group is to encourage progress, improvement and sharing. Over at Newgrounds, the Audio Forum can get cluttered and seeking advice on a track per track basis can be tedious waiting for someone to give you a review. Overall tracks can be lost and threads on single tracks isn't permitted.

Here, we have a straight-forward approach where we can get the approval, interest and most importantly feedback on all our tracks well before we release them on Newgrounds, or anywhere else for that fact.

We also promote compilation tracks of up to 15mins. What are compilation tracks? Well let me explain. No doubt as an audio creator you have loads of tracks you start with great intentions, then for some reason be put off it and leave it to die a lonley death. But what if you've abandoned something which is seriously good and you don't know it, maybe it's worth going back to? A compilation of unused tracks can be uploaded on a linked Facebook SoundCloud account! This let's us listen through the compilations and create comments on specific points of the tracks where we hear potential, or if it's a WIP track, problems.

Here we promote group inspiration by sharing WIP and "Failed" tracks. With a strong passionate community about audio, there's plenty we can do for each other.

There are times that I feel a lack of purpose and ability. Right now is one of those times. It's just another emotional storm to weather- it'll eventually pass.

What is my purpose here? I've always like math and science. I have obtained a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and am now working on a PhD. But I find it all rather draining. I can hardly do my research anymore. Even just thinking about work gives me headaches.

My main passion is writing (and performing) music, but I get exhausted of that very quickly when trying to take it at a serious pace. I also like to write stories, but I only have lists of ideas and cannot turn them into actual stories. I like to draw, but even when drawing is going well I get frustrated.

There are many things that I can do better than most people, but nothing I can do as well as a professional. "Jack of all trades, master of none."

Today I feel like I am just existing. I feel like humanity is not benefiting from my existence. I am only stealing the coin and food that was properly earned by somebody else. I feel useless.

I keep thinking that I need to quit my fancy research-y stuff and just take a simple job - something that is not taxing on the mind - so I can do my part to help the great clock of the world turn, and so that I can feel purpose to my existence, however small it may be. But I cannot quit now, as I am a critical piece in some significant collaboration. The pressure on me is huge.

I have ideas for music and drawings and stories to represent how I feel tonight - I have loads of ideas... but I cannot bring a single one to be more than just an idea. This entire world of creativity- locked inside my mind. I hate feeling this way.

Might I have the privilege of suggesting you check out IglicaV's excellent track "A Chance of Rain"?

It really is nice, and he only has 16 fans, so I figured I would promote it.

If you like instrumental ambient atmospheres, you should also check out Rose of Belhall.

It tastes like a Starbucks bottled coffee infused with aluminum powder. Grin.

Check it out- a video of me playing piano, full of awkward emotional swaying and neck craning as I stare holes through the keys so I don't forget where they are.

The music is my own original composition. The title "Tears" is just a temporary title because I can't come up with anything better. Feel free to suggest a new title.

If you want to download the music from this video, try this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/32637406/Music/Downloadable/Tears.mp3

Eight inches of snow (the most I've ever seen) inspired me to write music and build a snowman. If you have any great name ideas for my snowman, please mention them in a comment!

I am most encouraged (on Newgrounds) when people review my music. Any encouraging review, even if it expresses dislike of my music, is great! But today I noticed the download counter. That is also encouraging. Thanks for downloading my music! :)

If you want me to review any of your music just let me know!

Hello. I've really had a hard time with music projects. First my computer crashed, and even though all my project files were backed up because of a different system setup they are semi-corrupted. Restoring them is a very painful process, so I'll just be uploading my most recent mp3 renderings of some of them (before the computer crash).

I now have a new laptop and it hates music. It hates playing music, it hates LMMS, it hates FL Studio, and it even hates my audio hardware. I'm like, "Hey, Glowfish [that's what I named my computer], why do you hate the things I love?" and my computer just sits there and looks at me with a dumb look on it's face. :S

Also, I'm even busier than before with graduate school. I'm tasked to do more than I ever could do, so I'm just trying to do as much of it as I can because that's the sort of person I am.

Those are my excuses for not having music to share. But I'm still enjoying playing and composing music, mostly on the piano and various woodwinds. :)

I should have a few uploads of old things on here within 24 hours. Enjoy them, and make sure to leave reviews. :D

P.S. I attached a funny picture.
